PURPOSE OF THE AWARD
The Administrative Leadership Award is given out on an occasional basis as outstanding candidates are identified. It honors administrators on AGHE member campuses who have made exceptional efforts in support of gerontology or geriatrics education.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Nominees should be administrators above the level of everyday program operation, such as Deans, Provosts, or Presidents. Such individuals must have 'gone the extra mile' to support gerontology or geriatrics education on campus. At the time of the nomination, the nominee must be affiliated with an AGHE member institution.
SELECTION
Nominees will be reviewed and an awardee will recommended by the AGHE Awards Committee with final approval given by the Association's Executive Committee.

BENEFITS
The awardee will be recognized and receive a certificate at the annual AGHE meeting (if in attendance) and recognized in the annual conference book of an appropriate higher education organization. The recipient(s) will be invited to attend AGHE's annual conference at their own expense.
NOMINATION PROCESS
To be considered for the award, the nominator must submit, via email, a nominations packet that includes a primary letter of nomination, a minimum of two and a maximum of four supporting letters of nomination, and a copy of the nominee's curriculum vitae. Only electronic submissions will be reviewed. If at all possible, the nomination packet should be in the form of one, pdf-ed file that includes all of the required material. Nomination packets should be sent to Awards Committee Chair at committee Chair’s email address and to aghe@aghe.org. The deadline for receipt of nominations is February 1st. For questions about this award, please contact the Awards Committee Chair, Dr. Kelly Niles-Yokum, at (717) 815-6477 or via email: knilesyo@ycp.edu).
